Humble beginnings, and a poem

Welcome to the show! You’re reading Of All The Blogs, me and my friend Adrianne’s new venture into the world of making people read stuff we write.

What sort of blog will it be, I hear you ask? Whatever we please. Each week, Saturday at 3PM, we’ll both put up a post about something. Something interesting, something personal, something long, something short.

This first post will be in that last category. I write this seated on my bedside, fingers firing as fast as I can think of words to type. I meant to labor over this post (my very first) over the whole week, to woo you prospective readers with some well-crafted opening – some grand, sweeping summary of what a blog is, who I am, where I’m at in life and where I want to go, imparting wisdom at every turn of phrase and leaving your screens oozing with dry wit and clever writing.

Instead, I aim for speed, because I promised Mom I’d cut the grass today and it looks like it’s going to rain.

But I can’t leave just yet, because I made a promise to myself too, that there’d be something creative of mine in here. I want to put up things I write here, stories or whatnot, and my first should have been below. But again, grass. So here’s a poem instead. It has no name, because it is quite bad, and also not good. It just kinda appeared on a page in front of me while I was listening to Hail to the Thief. But read it if you wish – I include it only to start as I mean to go on.

And, again, welcome!
